The Assist™ is the ultimate pocket-sized cutting tool for first responders and prepared citizens. Its unique blade is hollow-ground from VG-10 stainless steel and features an oversized Trademark Round Hole™ and Cobra Hood™ attachment for reliable one-handed blade deployment, even while wearing heavy gloves. The blade’s blunt tip safely slides under seat belts, clothing, and other materials and will not puncture flotation gear, while its mostly serrated edge provides extreme cutting performance that easily powers through even the toughest materials. The Assist’s handle is injection molded from tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) and includes both finger grooves and a Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for extreme grip security. It also features a built-in survival whistle and a reversible wire pocket clip for ambidextrous tip-up carry. In addition to grip security, the handle’s finger grooves enable the blade to “scissor cut” rope and cord like a cigar cutter. Squeezing the closed blade also extends a retractable carbide glass breaker from the butt end of the handle to break windows safely and efficiently. One of the most versatile rescue knives ever created, the Assist comes standard with a satin-finished blade and a high-visibility orange handle. For end users who operate in environments where light discipline is a concern, it is also available in an all-black format with a non-reflective titanium carbonitride (TiCN) blade coating and a matching black-coated lock bar, clip, and handle hardware.
